Sherwood Smiles Payment Options

At Sherwood Smiles, we make high quality dental care easy and affordable. We offer a range of flexible payment options including Afterpay, ZIP and SuperCare, and we also accept government programs such as the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and Metro South Hospital dental vouchers. These options can help you access the dental care you need without financial stress.

We also have HICAPS available onsite for fast and convenient health fund claims, so in many cases, depending on your level of cover, you’ll only need to pay the gap on the day. As Preferred Providers for nib and CBHS, eligible members may also enjoy greater value and savings on their dental treatment.

Payment Options

Eftpos & Cash

We accept all major cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Cash is also welcome; however, please note that we keep limited change on-site.

Direct Debit & PAYID

We offer payment via PAYID or bank transfer. If you’d like to use this option, please call us on (07) 3379 6881 and we’ll provide the required details. We recommend processing transfers at least two days in advance to prevent any delays to your treatment.

Private Health Funds

We accept all private health funds and offer on-the-spot claiming through our HICAPS terminal. You can claim your rebate immediately and simply pay the gap, if applicable.

Payment Plans

Flexible payment options including Afterpay, Zip, and our own interest-free in-house payment plans are available. These options allow you to spread treatment costs into manageable installments, and our team can assist you with choosing and setting up the option that suits you best.

Compassionate Release of Superannuation

SuperCare assists individuals and their families in times of medical need by facilitating the application process for the Compassionate Release of Superannuation (CRS). This allows you to access your superannuation and eliminate the stress associated with paying for expensive, yet essential, dental treatments.

Government Assistance Programs

Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

We proudly participate in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), a government program that helps eligible families access essential dental care for children aged 2–17 years. Eligible children may receive up to $1,158 in dental benefits over a two-calendar-year period, which can be used for a range of basic dental services.

Eligibility Criteria

A child is eligible for the CDBS if they:
are aged 2–17 years at any point in the calendar year
are eligible for Medicare
receive, or have a parent/guardian receiving, an eligible Centrelink payment (e.g. Family Tax Benefit Part A) at any time during the calendar year

What the CDBS Covers

The program helps cover essential dental services, including:
examinations
cleans
X-rays
fissure sealants
fillings
extractions
root canal treatment

Please note: CDBS does not cover orthodontics, cosmetic procedures or any treatment performed in a hospital setting.

How We Help

Our team can check your child’s eligibility over the phone or at your appointment. We bulk bill eligible CDBS services, meaning no out-of-pocket cost for approved items up to your remaining benefit limit.

Metro South Hospital Vouchers

Sherwood Smiles is approved to accept Metro South Hospital dental vouchers. In Queensland, patients on the public dental waiting list may be offered a dental voucher from Queensland Health to access treatment through select private dental clinics. This helps eligible public patients receive timely care while waiting for their appointment at the public dental service.

If you have a voucher, our team can help you understand what treatments are included and guide you through the process.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

At Sherwood Smiles, we are honoured to support eligible veterans and war widows through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) dental program. If you hold a Gold Card or an eligible White Card, you may be entitled to fully covered dental treatment depending on your card type and clinical needs.

We provide a wide range of DVA-approved services, including preventive care, fillings, extractions, dentures, and emergency appointments. Our team will guide you through the process, confirm your eligibility, and help you understand any requirements before treatment begins.
